Ferrandis fastest within 250SX West this afternoon in Anaheim.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo has topped 450SX qualifying for the third-consecutive week, with Dylan Ferrandis quickest in 250SX at round three of 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
Cianciarulo has been spectacular through qualifying in his rookie campaign, however, in the opening timed session earlier this afternoon it was Marty Davalos (Team Tedder Monster Energy KTM) on top.
Come qualifying two the times dropped dramatically, with Cianciarulo’s 51.865s edging teammate Eli Tomac and St. Louis winner Ken Roczen (Team Honda HRC) inside the top three.
Fourth was a strong showing from Dean Wilson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) ahead of his teammate Jason Anderson, followed by improving defending champion Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM).
Smartop MotoConcepts Bullfrog Spas Honda duo Malcolm Stewart and Justin Hill were in formation for seventh and eighth, while Davalos slipped back to ninth and Benny Bloss (Rock River Yamaha) filled the top 10 this afternoon.
Further down the order was current points-leader and Anaheim 1 winner Justin Barcia, the Monster Energy Yamaha team rider all the way down in 18th position over two seconds outside of Cianciarulo’s benchmark.
The 250SX West category was led by Monster Energy Star Yamaha’s Ferrandis, fastest in both timed practices and eventually positing a best lap of 52.801s.
Behind him, last week’s winner Austin Forkner (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) was second and newcomer Jett Lawrence (Geico Honda) was third, followed by red plate-holder Justin Cooper (Monster Energy Star Yamaha) and Christian Craig (Geico Honda).
Positions six through 10 included Brandon Hartranft (TLD Red Bull KTM), Michael Mosiman (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna), Alex Martin (JGRMX Yoshimura Suzuki), Jacob Hayes (Gas Monkey Energy AJE Husqvarna) and Mitchell Oldenburg (Penrite Honda Racing).
