Forkner out of Houston 3 following timed practice incident
Earlier fall also leads to Hampshire sitting out this weekend's race.
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner is out of tonight’s third round of Monster Energy Supercross in Houston after an incident in the opening timed practice.
Forkner was ejected after attempting to triple into the inside through the third rhythm section, not attempting to return to his factory KX250.
Without detailing any injuries, Kawasaki has since confirmed that Forkner won’t be returning for Houston 3. He appeared to be managing his right arm/shoulder/ while walking off of the track.
Forkner isn’t the only front-runner who is out, as late in the untimed session earlier RJ Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) went down in the same section of the track and he didn’t come back out for qualifying. It’s been confirmed that he won’t be back tonight.
Ironically, it was Forkner and Hampshire who clashed in the 250SX East main event last week, leading to differing opinions on who was at fault. Forkner is currently fourth in points, Hampshire seventh following two rounds.
