A late decision from Cameron McAdoo to start in Pala’s final round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross resulted in a gritty top 10 finish, despite breaking his fingers one week earlier.

The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider injured his hand at Thunder Valley, announcing he would miss the weekend until opting to go ahead and race on Saturday.

McAdoo qualified 10th and then delivered a 10-11 scorecard for P10 overall, which was a solid end to the year considering his fresh injury that almost ended his season prematurely. He rode with his fingers taped together and hand-guards.

“It was a tough race for me out there today as I didn’t even know if I was going to line up until today,” McAdoo admitted. “We did everything we could with a pretty mangled hand and fought for 10th overall.”

McAdoo was satisfied to complete his first season with Pro Circuit after taking ninth in the final standings: “I really feel like we made great strides this season with earning some of my best career moto and overall finishes.

“We will take some time to get healed up with the hand and then start testing for the 2021 season on our all-new KX250,” he said. “We have heard nothing but amazing things about this new bike, so I am looking forward to the off-season.”
