Cape Town in South Africa is set to debut on the World Supercross Championship (WSX) schedule in 2025, joining the previously-announced London and Buenos Aires events as part of the ongoing release of this year’s calendar.

Entering its fourth year, WSX’s debut in South Africa will take place at DHL Stadium, a world-class venue known for hosting major international sports and entertainment events.

World Supercross has partnered with leading local event promoter Showtime Management – the group behind bringing global productions like Monster Jam, Disney on Ice and the Freestyle Kings to South Africa – to take the WSX series into the African continent for the first time.

“Bringing World Supercross to Africa is a historic step and highlights our mission to bring supercross to fans worldwide,” WSX CEO Tom Burwell explained. “South Africa has a rich sporting culture and we’re excited to deliver an action-packed event with world-class riders in a fan-first experience. DHL Stadium is an iconic venue and we can’t wait to showcase our championship on this stage.”

It’s understood that the WSX series could expand to as many as six-to-seven rounds in 2025, however, organizers are yet to confirm any dates for the three races already announced. Last year’s championship hosted events in Canada, Australia and Abu Dhabi during the final quarter.
