Timeline for 250SX East return is currently undisclosed.
A concussion sustained during a mid-week practice crash will sideline Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Daxton Bennick for round two of the 250SX East class competition in Detroit this weekend.
Fresh off a career-best second-place result in Tampa, 19-year-old Bennick was aiming for consistent momentum and progress throughout his second professional season, however, this mishap undoubtedly hinders his progress.
The news comes through Yamaha’s official Blu Cru social media channels, with additional information to follow.
“Unfortunately due to a crash during training, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Daxton Bennick will be sidelined from this weekend’s Detroit Supercross with a concussion,” read the Instagram post. “An update on his return will follow at a later date.”
The 250SX East class will have one week off following Detroit, as the 250SX Western regional contenders line up for round seven in Arlington. Therefore, if Bennick requires additional time off the motorcycle beyond Detroit, the young rider could benefit from the schedule break.
