Four-round 2024 series to commence in Vancouver this weekend.
Team rosters have been locked in entering this weekend’s opening round of the 2024 World Supercross Championship (WSX), where Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac will headline the premier class field, and current SX2 champion Max Anstie will make a wildcard appearance.
Two-time defending 450 class title-holder Roczen is continuing with Pipes Motorsports Group (PMG), this year to be joined by Colt Nichols on Suzuki machinery, while Tomac and Matt Moss will be situated at CDR Yamaha.
Fire Power Froth Honda will enter Joey Savatgy and Dean Wilson – second and third in the world last year – while Rick Ware Racing will house Luke Clout and Mitchell Oldenburg. MotoConcepts Racing is back once again, continuing with Vince Friese alongside new recruit Ryan Breece.
The European-based teams will include Bud Kawasaki with Cedric Soubeyras and Anthony Bourdon, with GSM Yamaha re-signing Greg Aranda with Boris Maillard. WSX class wildcards in Vancouver will be Cade Clason and Lucas Dunka, completing the 16-rider line-up for round one.
With Anstie switching to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for 2025, Fire Power Froth Honda will enter 2022 title winner Shane McElrath and Canadian Cole Thompson in the SX2 category, while CDR Yamaha has drafted in Australian pair Ryder Kingsford and Kaleb Barham.
PMG’s 250 program will feature Kyle Chisholm and Derek Kelley, RWR has Coty Schock and Enzo Lopes, MCR includes Cullin Park and Noah Viney, Bud Racing will be Calvin Fonvielle and Brice Maylin, plus GSM’s riders are Julien Lebeau and Maxime Desprey. The wildcard places in round one will be taken up by Anstie and Preston Boespflug.
Two high-profile teams not continuing for 2024 include the Honda Nils organization, which was operated by Team HRC MXGP owner Giacomo Gariboldi, as well as the ClubMX Yamaha team, which will solely revert its focus to the American series moving forward.
