Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider to miss round three.
An injury sustained while practicing this week has ruled Maximus Vohland out of Saturday’s third round of Monster Energy Supercross 2024 in San Diego, with a return date unclear for the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider.
Vohland, 20, won his heat race at Anaheim 1 and then finished fifth in the 250SX West main event, but exited San Francisco with a mechanical fault in the muddy conditions.
“Maximus Vohland will sit out San Diego SX due to an injury sustained during practice this week,” an update from Kawasaki confirmed. “Further updates on Max’s expected return to racing will be provided when available.”
It’s an untimely injury for Vohland after displaying promise in the opening round, quickly making progress with the Mitch Payton-led Pro Circuit organization upon arrival from a three-year term at Red Bull KTM in the professional ranks.
Any specific information on Vohland’s injury – understood to have happened at Kawasaki’s Glen Helen-based test track – is yet to be released by himself or the team.
