Fresh off his SX2 win at the opening round of the 2023 World Supercross Championship (WSX), Shane McElrath will line up this weekend in the 450MX category for round seven of the Pro Motocross Championship at Spring Creek.
After starting the season riding a Twisted Tea Suzuki in Monster Energy Supercross, McElrath opted for the Supercross-only route, committing to WSX with Rick Ware Racing Mobil 1 Yamaha instead of competing in the outdoors.
“The cats out of the bag, we are going racing,” said McElrath. “I spent the week breaking in my new YZ450F and am ready to throw down this weekend. See you at Millville!”
Points are becoming increasingly important for riders to make the post-season SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) playoffs, with McElrath currently ranked 16th in the standings.
Round seven of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship takes place this Saturday, 15 July at the famed Millville circuit in Minnesota.
