450SX newcomer Christian Craig continues to make progress as he adapts to the premier class of Supercross full-time, finishing each of the three finals at Anaheim 2’s Triple Crown inside the top 10.

While Craig has past experience on a 450, 2023 marks his first season full-time in 450SX and his maiden campaign with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing.

The reigning 250SX West champion opened the year with 13th at Anaheim 1 and P11 at San Diego. While his overall result at A2 equalled his season-best from Snapdragon Stadium, his results in terms of main event finishes were the strongest they have been to date this season, notching 9-10-10 results.

“A2 started off better,” Craig said. “I put in better times in qualifying. I’m just struggling a little bit mentally, just trying to get more comfortable. I’ll keep working on that and try to improve for Houston. All-around I’ll just try to take the positives from the night, know that I’m capable of more, and try to keep working toward my goals.”

Anaheim 2 also saw Craig score a season-best qualifying of ninth position, bettering his previous qualifying efforts of 12th at San Diego and 14th at the opening round of the season at Anaheim 1.

The first of the Eastern regional races takes place this coming weekend at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
