A practice crash has forced Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Levi Kitchen to the sidelines with ‘The Chef’ requiring surgery on a broken wrist sustained from the fall.

Kitchen is fifth in the 250MX standings following the first six rounds of 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and will go under the knife tomorrow to commence the recovery process.

The injury puts a halt to the 21-year-old’s breakout season in professional competition, where he most recently finished second in moto two at Southwick and scored a career-first Pro Motocross victory in race one at Thunder Valley.

“Had a mishap practising today and ended up breaking my wrist,” Kitchen shared. “Going in for surgery tomorrow to get fixed up. I’ll do my best to be back as soon as I can!”

No specific return date or round has been indicated for Kitchen, with Justin Cooper, Nate Thrasher and Nick Romano to represent Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing when the series continues this Saturday at Spring Creek.
