Impressive effort on his way to 11th position in 450SX main event.
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM WPS rider Joey Savatgy managed to race-on in Oakland despite tearing his ACL last week between rounds one and two.
Savatgy has revealed that he crashed on Tuesday and learned of the injury by Thursday, before going on to claim 11th position in the 450SX main event on Saturday.
“Oakland was tough for me,” he stated. “I had a pretty violent crash Tuesday and, after further tests, I found out Thursday I tore my ACL.
“Thankfully I have a great group of people around me and I was able to get through what I believe will be the hardest day. P11 on the night, no excuses, did the best I could. Back to work.”
After claiming eighth at Anaheim 1 and P11 on the weekend in Oakland, Savatgy maintains 10th position in the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross standings two rounds into the season.
