In the latest revelation of rider transfers, Carson Mumford has confirmed his move to the BarX Chaparral Suzuki team for 2022 following the closure of Chaparral FXR Honda.

Mumford, a longtime Honda amateur rider, will make the switch to an RM-Z250 following a two-year pro stint on CRF250R machinery.

This year saw the 19-year-old complete the Lucas Oils Pro Motocross Championship 13th in the 250MX point standings, his best overall result coming at Ironman with P8 courtesy of two eighth-place finishes.

Mumford also competed in Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX West this season, achieving a best result of 12th at Arlington 3 in Texas.

Prior to 2021, the Californian represented the Geico Honda outfit in 2020 before the factory-supported team closed at the end of that season.

Next year marks the first time Mumford will ride a different brand of bike in the pro ranks. With the fresh surrounds, he will look to progress forward in both championships.
