Red Bull KTM rider hopeful for Arlington 3 return.
After crashing out of the first of three rounds in Arlington and sustaining a concussion, Marvin Musquin will miss round 11 due to concussion protocol.
In the second 450SX heat of the night on Saturday at AT&T Stadium, Musquin suffered a heavy crash, going down at the end of a rhythm section while running second in the race, the crash forcing him to sit out the LCQ and subsequently the main event that evening.
His condition following the incident wasn’t immediately made clear, aside from receiving stitches via the Alpinestars medical center. Musquin took to Instagram this morning to announce he won’t be lining up for round 11 due to a concussion.
“I have been very lucky to get up in one piece,” Musquin said. “[I’m] really sore but nothing [is] broken. I did require a few stitches but nothing bad.
“But I did get a concussion and I have to follow the concussion protocol that is in place with the Alpinestars Medical Clinic in order to get released to go back to racing. This protocol takes a minimum of a couple days, and unfortunately, it is impossible to get a release to race for today’s round.”
Musquin will remain in Arlington through the week and continue with the protocol, with hopes to return to the track this Saturday in Arlington for round 12 of the 2021 championship.
