Dual MXGP class world champion Jorge Prado has returned to riding following a shoulder injury sustained during Supercross earlier in the year, on track for the opening round of Pro Motocross in a month’s time.

Prado (Monster Energy Kawasaki) lined up for his first full season of Monster Energy Supercross in 2025, completing two rounds of racing before a dislocated right shoulder at the third stop in Anaheim drew an early end to his season.

Featuring on the broadcast during round 14 in East Rutherford, Prado confirmed that he had made a return to riding and is in preparation for the upcoming Pro Motocross season, which begins on May 24 at Fox Raceway.

“My recovery is going well, unfortunately, shoulder injuries take some time and are never easy,” commented Prado. “I love riding so much, so it was amazing to be back on the bike [this week], I felt like a little kid being on the bike again and didn’t want to stop riding!

“But we are taking it step by step, getting back to full fitness, and getting my health back to where it needs to be so we’re ready for Pro Motocross.”

The anticipation is high for Prado during his debut American outdoor season, with the MXGP experience lending itself to an easier transition to the motocross discipline opposed to indoors, with both he and the team expecting to be contenders from the outset.

The Pro Motocross championship commences on May 24 at California’s Fox Raceway, which marks the beginning of the 11-round outdoor season, before the SuperMotocross Playoffs take flight in September.
