After a steady start to his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki reunion in Supercross, Garrett Marchbanks is beginning to find his stride following a series of changes to his training program, with a second-place result on Saturday night in Seattle validating those adjustments made.

After his departure from the Corona-based Kawasaki outfit in late 2020, Marchbanks transitioned to the Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha team located in South Carolina, spending just over three years as part of the program.

Transitioning back to his former team halfway through last year’s Pro Motocross campaign, the 23-year-old has since employed the assistance of former 250SX West champion Broc Tickle as a riding coach, and Alex Martin for his off-the-bike regime.

“I started working with Broc Tickle on the bike and kept working with Alex Martin off the bike,” revealed Marchbanks after Seattle. “Broc and I started working on some things on the bike to help me with technique and sprint work.

“This is the best two weeks I’ve felt health-wise, and on the bike, I am nearly at 100 percent. I feel like I found some things that were able to make a difference, and tonight everything was clicking.”

His performance inside Lumen Field was solid, marked by a pass on championship contender Julien Beaumer (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and a measured ride ensued thereafter to claim second place, which is his first podium since last year’s 250SX West San Diego round.

“It was nice to get the monkey off my back and finally get a podium again. It’s been a long time, and I’m happy to do it for the team.”

Marchbanks currently sits equal sixth in the 250SX West regional standings, four points off fifth-place rider Coty Schock (Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha) with three rounds remaining.
