PMG Suzuki team names Ramette as replacement for the final round.
PMG Suzuki will enter Thomas Ramette in place of Colt Nichols for Abu Dhabi’s final round of the 2024 World Supercross Championship (WSX), as the American takes time to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in Perth.
Nichols has joined the Dustin Pipes-led team for the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) at home as part of Twisted Tea Suzuki, but has had his WSX season cut short through injury.
“Bummed to be missing the final WSX race in Abu Dhabi, but I’m back home trying to recover and get my shoulder fully healed up and good to go for A1,” Nichols announced. “Thanks to the PMG Racing team and everybody else, hopefully back to it soon.”
The extent of Nichols’ shoulder damage is unclear at this point, with less than six weeks before the start of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. He finished fourth in Vancouver’s opening WSX round and still sits ninth in the standings despite crashing out in Australia.
Ramette, meanwhile, had been a regular in WSX previously – finishing 14th in last year’s standings – and has raced Suzuki machinery in Europe this season. The Frenchman finished 10th in last month’s Paris Supercross and will join Ken Roczen in the PMG team this Wednesday.
