CDR Yamaha Monster Energy has drafted in Phil Nicoletti for the 2024 World Supercross Championship (WSX) finals in Abu Dhabi, replacing injured Australian Kaleb Barham in SX2.

Nicoletti lined up on a Yamalube Yamaha Racing YZ250F – also filling in for Barham – in the final round of this year’s Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX), going 4-6-DNF after a clash with teammate Ryder Kingsford.

It was already intended for Nicoletti to ride the CDR bike in Abu Dhabi after Barham was injured in Western Australia’s Perth round, and the equipment is identical to that of the Yamalube team bike he raced to eighth overall at Marvel Stadium last Saturday night.

CDR Yamaha will field Nicoletti and Kingsford in the SX2 class, while WSX red plate-holder Eli Tomac – the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing regular – and Matt Moss will spearhead the premier class entry.
