A mixture of international races on the agenda in addition to US starts.
Fan favorite Dean Wilson has outlined his part-time supercross plans for the 2025 season, confirming he will race just a selection of Monster Energy Supercross races next year amid a broader international schedule.
The supercross specialist, who is currently in Australia defending his SX1 title, has indicated he won’t be lining up in the US next January, instead revealing that he intends to enter at least five rounds of the series.
It was recently announced that Wilson will contest the entire 2025 British Arenacross and AX World Tour series that is due to commence in January, while he’s also set to appear at the Dortmund Supercross in Germany between 10-12 January.
“Fore 2025 I just wanted to do a schedule on my terms,” Wilson told MotoOnline. “Just enjoy racing and go race where I want to race. I’m lucky enough where I think I’m going to be able to do that, and I think I will do at least five US Supercross races, probably towards the middle of the season and I think I’m still capable of being in the top 12. That’s the plan.”
“There are no plans to do supercross in January. I think they’ll just be select ones that I want to do because I don’t want to do 17 rounds again. The level is very, very high, and it’s just hard to stay healthy for 17 rounds, so I just want to do a schedule that’s fun and that I enjoy, and that I can still race for a living and have fun with it.”
The Scotsman is also in the middle of an FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) campaign with Fire Power Honda – the team in which he also rides for in Australia under the Honda Racing banner – and while his WSX and AUSX plans are still to be determined, Wilson is firm on remaining on Honda machinery for next season.
