Chase Sexton clinched the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross 450MX title by going 1-1 at the Ironman National to close out the season. The result capped off a string of six straight overall wins as Sexton won every National in the second half of the season.

Red Bull KTM teammate Aaron Plessinger followed him all day long as he settled for a 2-2 day. Sexton even stalled his bike at one point during the second moto and Plessinger momentarily made a real run at the win before backing off to bring home another podium.

Returning to the podium for the first time since his return from injury was Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac who collected 4-3 scores on the day. Tomac ran the fastest laps of the race in the middle of both motos but ran out of steam in the final 10 minutes of each.

Wrapping up the top five results at the finale were Team Honda HRC’s Hunter Lawrence and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Justin Cooper who battled it out in the final moto of the year. Lawrence would end up fourth overall with 3-6 scores while Cooper would go 6-4 for fifth.

Behind them, it was Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson in sixth, Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha’s Phil Nicoletti in seventh, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Christian Craig in eighth, MaddParts.com Kawasaki’s Freddie Noren in ninth, and Rockstar Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart rounded out the top 10.

With his 2024 AMA Pro Motocross championship, Chase Sexton has also secured P1 in seeding for the SuperMotocross Playoffs beginning in two weeks.
