Also set for Pro Motocross comeback in 450 Class at Unadilla.
Two-time national champion Ken Roczen will contest two of the final three rounds of Pro Motocross, including a one-off start back in 250MX at Ironman Raceway’s final round of the 2024 season.
The Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki rider – who last raced the 250 Class a decade ago – lined up at a single outdoor last year to finish P2 at High Point, and also raced the Motocross of Nations (MXoN) to win the MXGP class individually at Ernee.
Roczen will comfortably qualify for the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) playoffs in September as a result of his form in Supercross – including a single main event victory in Glendale on the way to P7 in points – but has opted to keep sharp in a pair of nationals during the final portion of the season. He hasn’t linked up since being injured at Nashville.
“I wanted to let you guys know that I am in for the 450 class at Unadilla,” Roczen said. “Super-excited about it for my return to Pro Motocross. And on top of that, as a little surprise, I will be racing a RM-Z250 at Ironman – I’m going to be mixing it up with the kids and I’m super-excited about it. It’s been about a hundred years since I’ve ridden a 250 for real, and I figured why not have a little bit of fun, right?”
Following the three-round SMX Finals series and the Nations, Roczen will turn his attention to defending his World Supercross Championship (WSX) crown under a multi-year commitment with series rights-holder SX Global. That will span into the beginning of December as part of his 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross preparations.
