Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton collected his third win of the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday by sweeping the Spring Creek National. Charging into the lead of both motos, Sexton extended his lead in the 450MX title fight.

Spring Creek was the first time since the third round of the series that Sexton led the points standings coming in. After a strong performance at Red Bud a week ago, Sexton was able to keep the ball rolling as he caught and passed former points leader Hunter Lawrence in both motos to take off with the win.

Hunter Lawrence was able to hang on for P2 in both motos to limit the damage on the day though he did have a close fight with Justin Cooper in the second moto. Cooper got out to the holeshot in the second moto after a crucial tire change and put a much better second moto together to go 5-3 on the day for P3 overall.

Fourth on the day would go to Aaron Plessinger as he tied Justin Cooper with 3-5 scores. Plessinger kept Sexton and Lawrence honest in the first moto, but crashed early in the second moto and spent the whole time getting back to P5. Jason Anderson would round out the top five overall with a 4-4 day after qualifying P1 and he was just a tick off from the leaders in both motos.

Behind them, it was Phoenix Racing Honda’s Dylan Ferrandis in sixth, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Christian Craig in seventh, Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha’s Phil Nicoletti in eighth, privateer Harri Kullas in ninth, and Rockstar Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart rounding out the top 10.

Sexton now leads the points by 13 points over Hunter Lawrence with just four rounds to go. Next week’s Washougal National will be crucial before heading into a big two weekend break in the schedule as riders look to continue building momentum into the final races.
