Red Bull KTM’s Julien Beaumer will miss the RedBud National this weekend as he continues to follow concussion protocol following his crash at Southwick. The team stated that Beaumer did not sustain further injury aside from the concussion and they will aim to get him back to full health before he returns to racing.

Beaumer crashed on the first start of the second 250MX moto at Southwick before the red flag was displayed to allow medics to tend to Beaumer. The rookie was knocked unconscious and was laying in the middle of the track for several minutes before being lifted onto the Alpinestars medical cart. Beaumer was not transported to a hospital after he was checked out at the track by the medical crew.

However, further evaluation this week has now forced Beaumer and the team to take the decision to keep him on the sidelines.

“It was so unfortunate to see Julien crash in the opening lap of Moto two at Southwick, after showing strides at High Point with a sixth overall,” said Red Bull KTM team manager Ian Harrison. “Julien’s health is our first priority and it is a positive that he did not sustain further injury. After receiving further evaluations this week, he will sit out RedBud and will diligently follow concussion protocol until cleared to race. We eagerly anticipate his full recovery and return to racing at 100 percent.”
