Ty Masterpool collected his first career overall win and the 300th win for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki by going 2-1 to claim the High Point National in the 250 class. A battle throughout both motos, Masterpool held off a hard charging Haiden Deegan to win the second moto, which was also the first moto win of his career.

Deegan aboard his Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Yamaha came from outside of the top 10 in both motos after a bad start in the first moto left him near 20th place and he was able to charge all the way back through and win the moto. The second moto, Deegan started up front and then crashed on the first lap and again found himself just inside the top 20. This time he got all the way back to Masterpool, but Masterpool was just able to hang on for the win.

Team Honda HRC’s Chance Hymas rounded out the podium and spent time in both motos leading the race. When Masterpool actually fell while leading in the second moto, Hymas took over the lead and opened up a small gap before Masterpool was able to run him down again.

Hymas’ Honda HRC teammate Jo Shimoda collected 3-5 moto scores to earned fourth place overall. It was a tough day for Red Bull KTM’s Tom Vialle in his fight for the championship as a first moto crash left him P8, but he rebounded in the second moto to finish P4 and fifth overall on the day.

Behind them, it was Red Bull KTM’s Julien Beaumer in sixth, Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas’ Ryder DiFrancesco in seventh, his teammate Pierce Brown in eighth, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen in ninth, and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Jordon Smith in 10th.

Deegan now leads the points over Hymas by 32 points as he further extended his championship lead into over a full moto advantage. The series now has a break with one weekend off before action returns for the Southwick National on June 29th.
