The Australian becomes the second rider to sweep a 450SX Triple Crown.
On the heels of being the first back-to-back winner of 2024, Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence kept the ball rolling in a big way by sweeping all three races of the Triple Crown in Indianapolis. The overall win was also Lawrence’s fifth win of the season through the first 10 races.
All three races had a similar look with Progressive ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen getting out to the early lead in each race before Lawrence snuck up and passed him. Roczen made him work a little extra for it in the third race, but Lawrence was simply not to be denied.
Roczen would end up going 2-2-3 for second overall on the night having led the most laps on the evening. Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton was able to nab second place in the final race from Roczen, but his 3-3-2 scores were not enough to topple the German out of P2.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson finished fourth overall despite never finishing fourth in any of the races and putting 5-6-5 scores on the board. His score was helped by some inconsistent results behind him as Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb went 8-5-4 for fifth ahead of Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger who went 6-4-9 for sixth and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac who put in 4-7-10 scores for seventh.
Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas rider Justin Barcia, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart, and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Justin Cooper rounded out the top 10 positions.
Lawrence now boasts a whopping 21-point lead in the championship after his third consecutive win. The series continued next week all the way back on the west coast as Monster Energy AMA Supercross heads to Seattle, Washington’s Lumen Field on March 23rd.
