A rough few weeks culminates into a missed round for Ferrandis.
Phoenix Racing Honda has announced that Dylan Ferrandis will miss the Indianapolis Supercross this weekend due to an illness.
Ferrandis currently sits ninth in the 450SX class points standings through the first half of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, but is coming off a DNF in the main event last weekend in Birmingham.
A crash on the third lap of the main event while running 11th ended his night prematurely, but Ferrandis was not 100 percent before the gates dropped last weekend.
“Tough races the last few rounds, been dealing with sickness and hurt my knee during my crash at Daytona,” explained Ferrandis in a recent Instagram post. “Nothing serious but bone bruises that forced me to rest all last week and another crash in the main event at Birmingham. Very disappointed for the team and people who support me. Will see how this week goes and I hope can ride normally without knee pain to come back to the next round in better form.”
At the eighth round in Daytona, Ferrandis went over the bars while running fourth in the main event. He was lucky to eject from the motorcycle and avoid a more serious crash, but as mentioned, he did still suffer a bone bruise in his knee. Remarkably, he still was able to remount that evening and charge to an eighth place finish.
Phoenix Racing believes Ferrandis will return to action at the 11th round in Seattle, Washington on March 23.
