Set to debut with factory Yamaha team from Seattle next weekend.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has added Michael Mosiman to its 250 class roster in a deal that will commence at next weekend’s Seattle round of Monster Energy Supercross.
Mosiman, 24, has been absent altogether since departing Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas at the end of last season, but constantly linked to a 250SX opportunity at Star Racing.
“I am honored to be a part of such a successful team and to be surrounded by so many driven individuals,” Mosiman commented. “In my short time of getting to know the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team, I have been impressed with the dedication, commitment, and passion they have for the sport and for winning.
“I am thrilled to be part of the organization and am looking forward to getting back to racing. Being off the bike and away from racing for a bit has allowed me to truly reset and return stronger both physically and mentally. I think the partnership with Star Yamaha could not have come at a better time in my career.”
Mosiman won his first Supercross at San Diego in 2022 and finished third in the 250SX West standings that season, however, last year he was struck by injuries that sidelined him for the majority of the year. His debut on the YZ250F will come at round six of the 2024 series, before turning his attention to Pro Motocross and the SuperMotocross Finals series.
“We’re excited to have Michael join the team,” said Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 250 team manager Jensen Hendler. “We’ve only been working with him for a little bit, but we feel he has the speed and can battle up front. It’s not easy to jump into a season that’s already been rolling, but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do and are looking forward to Seattle.”
The addition of Mosiman sees him alongside Jordon Smith and Nate Thrasher in the western region, while Haiden Deegan, Daxton Bennick, Nick Romano, Enzo Lopes and Stilez Robertson – the latter pair both injured – make up the 250SX East program.
