Expected to contest 2024 season equipped with CRF450R machinery.
High-profile free-agent Dylan Ferrandis has surfaced testing with Phoenix Racing Honda, expected to sign with the team for 2024 after departing Star Racing.
Ferrandis, 29, had achieved immense success with Yamaha including the 2021 450MX championship, in addition to a pair of 250SX titles prior to joining the premier class.
It’s been widely understood that Ferrandis was searching for a CRF450R after failing to gain 100 percent comfort on the new generation YZ450F, and it appears he’s now found that position within the North Carolina-based Phoenix Racing organization.
The Frenchman has also linked up with Factory Connection as part of this newfound project, which isn’t expected to have direct support from the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), at least in terms of complete factory equipment.
In Ferrandis’ last term with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, which will field Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb and Justin Cooper next year, he was second in Pro Motocross points, but missed the majority of Monster Energy Supercross.
