Seven-rider 250 class roster for factory Yamaha organization.
Brazilian Enzo Lopes has come as a late addition to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s line-up, signing a 250SX-only deal for 2024.
Lopes, 24, made his professional debut at the Hangtown National in 2018, and completed this year’s 250SX West Championship fourth overall with the ClubMX team.
He was originally signed to continue with the ClubMX team for the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season, however, that won’t eventuate in favor of an opportunity with the famed Star Racing outfit.
“I am super excited to join the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team for 2024,” said Lopes. “Growing up in Brazil, it has always been my dream to represent a factory team, and to make that a reality with the best makes me eager to work even harder.
“I’ve been training with Swanie [Gareth Swanepoel] and the team for a couple of days now, and it has been awesome. I know I have what it takes to win, and with the right team and program around me, the sky is the limit. I can’t wait to go racing!”
Lopes will compete with the Star Racing program through AMA Supercross next year, joining 250SMX champion Haiden Deegan, Jordon Smith, Stilez Robertson, Nick Romano, Nate Thrasher and Daxton Bennick within the team aboard the all-new YZ250F.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 250 team manager Jensen Hendler added: “We’re happy to have Enzo join our program for 2024. He’s continued to make progress, and we feel that he can be a title contender. We’ve just started to get working with him, and we can’t wait to see what he can do.”
