A crash in race one at Washougal sidelined Tom Vialle for the remainder of the weekend in round eight of Pro Motocross, with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider avoiding any ‘major damage’ in the incident.

Claiming six race podiums plus an overall victory at Southwick so far in his maiden 250MX campaign, Vialle entered Washougal P7 in the title-race despite misfortune earlier in the season at Thunder Valley.

The two-time MX2 world champion qualified a lowly 14th overall on Saturday, before a crash during the opening race that afternoon saw him effectively ruled out for the rest of the round.

“I was really disappointed not to be able to race in the second moto today after falling in the first one,” Vialle explained. “I haven’t done any major damage, but I was banged up in what was a really big crash for me. I’m kind of lucky now that we have the break with two weekends off, so I will have time to heal up and look ahead to Unadilla.”

Following two weekends off, the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship fires back into action at Unadilla on 12 August, as Vialle sits eighth in the 250MX standings with three rounds remaining.
