The strong form of Kawasaki Racing Team’s Romain Febvre continued at the MXGP of Lombok as he claimed back-to-back overall victories, while Jago Geerts returned to the MX2 top step in Indonesia.

Febvre traded victories with Jorge Prado (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) to secure the overall with a 2-1 scorecard, fighting his way past the red plate-holder in the second moto to take a decisive race win.

Prado went 1-2 for second overall, overcoming Febvre in the closing stages of moto one to add another race victory to his 2023 tally. A pair of thirds for Monster Energy Yamaha’s Glenn Coldenhoff saw the number 259 land P3 overall at Lombok.

A 4-4 scorecard was enough for Jeremy Seewer (Monster Energy Yamaha) to secure P4 on the day as Ruben Fernandez (Team HRC) also featured in the top five courtesy of 5-5 results.

Thanks to his victory in the qualifying race, Prado was still able to extend at the top of the championship standings and now holds a 103-point lead ahead of Febvre.

In MX2, Monster Energy Yamaha’s Geerts made a dominant return to the top step with a perfect 1-1 scorecard, clawing his way forward in the standings.

Red plate-holder Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) maintained the championship lead with a 2-3 scorecard, landing second on the day as Simon Laengenfelder (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) completed the overall rostrum with 5-2 finishes.

Roan Van Moosdijk (Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing) recovered to finish third in moto one, but a sixth place in moto two saw him fourth overall at the second round in Indonesia. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Liam Everts completed the top five thanks to 6-4 finishes.

Adamo still leads the MX2 standings, his advantage 26 points ahead of Thibault Bensistant (Monster Energy Yamaha) – who was ninth overall in Lombok. Geerts results – including a win in the qualifying race – saw him close to 47-points from Adamo, the number 93 notably missing races in France and Latvia due to injury.
