250SX West season over following surgery on multiple injuries.
TLD Red Bull GasGas rider Pierce Brown has sustained a broken hand while preparing for the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship, forcing him to the sidelines after undergoing surgery, while also repairing a torn meniscus sustained earlier in the year.
Brown is currently eighth in the 250SX West standings and was using the region’s off weekend to accelerate his preparation for the upcoming 250MX campaign when he broke his hand last Friday.
“Tough news to break, but unfortunately, I broke my hand last Friday while prepping for outdoors and had to get it fixed up in surgery today,” said Brown. “I’ve also been dealing with a torn meniscus for the last month or so and I went ahead and got that fixed up today too, thanks to Dr. Greenbaum.
“We’re on the mend and I’m doing everything possible to get back ASAP. Bummed to let my team and supporters down as it’s been a tough 2023 season. I’ll keep you guys updated on everything, but I’m stoked to get healthy and come out swinging for outdoors.”
The announcement rules Brown out of the two remaining 250SX West races, with three and half weeks to go until the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship commences at Fox Raceway on 27 May.
It’s been a tough week for the Troy Lee Designs team, with sole 450SX rider Justin Barcia injured in Nashville and also likely out for the final two rounds. Further, official details are yet to be released on the 51.
