A fractured neck sustained at Nashville has ruled Jason Anderson out of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship remainder, but the KX450 rider believes he can come back to the races ‘relatively soon’.

Anderson completed the event at Nissan Stadium after the incident, qualifying seventh fastest before transferring to the main through the LCQ to ultimately finish the night in P6.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider could tell something was clearly wrong this week, and a CT scan revealed a non-displaced fracture in his c5-c6 vertebrae.

“So last weekend I had a crash in practice that I didn’t think it was too bad,” Anderson shared. “After racing and then practising this week I felt like something was wrong. So after a ct scan, it showed I have a non-displaced fracture at c5-c6 in my neck.

“Obviously, that’s one of the things we fear the most as racers is an injury in that area, but luckily where the fracture is my season is not over and I can come back to the races relatively soon!”

Anderson is currently P6 in the 2023 450SX standings, his best result of the season coming at Anaheim 2 where he finished second.
