Strong turnaround for 450 SX-F rider after challenging Daytona.
A fourth-place result in Indianapolis was a convincing rebound for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger after he finished a challenging ninth at Daytona the weekend prior.
P9 at round eight equalled Plessinger’s worst result of the season, but the number seven quickly turned things around in Indy to charge to second in heat two.
A mid-pack start in the main event left Plessinger with work to do, but adapting to the challenging, rapidly worsening conditions he was able to secure a comfortable P4 by race-end, his fourth top-five result so far in season 2023.
“I love coming to Indianapolis and it was a fun day, all-in-all. I felt good in my heat and was able to make the pass for second in the whoops, which had me feeling confident going into the main event,” said Plessinger.
“I got off to a mediocre start in the main, but I tried to ride smart and pushed my way to fourth, where I stayed for the rest of the race. After last weekend’s disappointing ninth result, I wanted to get back up there this weekend and get that momentum back, and I felt like I did that tonight. On to the next one!”
Plessinger’s best result across the opening nine rounds of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship is third-place at Tampa, and he is currently seventh in the 450SX as the series moves to Ford Field, Detriot this Saturday.
