The comeback of Phil Nicoletti has been delayed after the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha rider broke his ulna again in a practice crash.

Nicoletti fell during Monster Energy Supercross at Atlanta in April, breaking his ulna while competing in 250SX. He was expected to return to competition this summer, before the latest injury sustained on Tuesday.

“You learn more in the darkest times than you do when everything is going to plan,” Nicoletti shared. “You question all the sacrifices that come to reaching your goals. No matter how hard you work and stay committed to this craft, there is no guarantee it’ll go to plan as you’d like.

“The lows make the highs that much better when you get there. Injuries heal, but the time wasted as you get older does not. Tuesday I had a crash. This resulted in breaking my ulna again to the point I need some more hardware. Back to square one, and the rebuild continues once again.”

Nicoletti finished 12th in 2022 250SX East after missing the final three rounds, with a best result of P5 in St.Louis. He has re-signed with the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team for next year and will compete in 250SX before stepping up to a 450 for Pro Motocross, as initially intended this season.
