Trying season over due to thumb injury sustained in training.
Teenager Max Vohland will sit out the remaining rounds of 2022 Monster Energy Supercross, the Red Bull KTM rider focused on the outdoors after injuring himself this week.
Vohland, 19, suffered a fractured thumb while training following Atlanta and has confirmed that he will now turn his attention to Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, beginning at Fox Raceway next month.
“Unfortunately had a small crash this week in training and ended up cracking my thumb,” Vohland announced. “I won’t be lining up for SX… Will start working towards outdoors as soon as I get back on the bike. I want to thank my sponsors for all there support.”
Vohland has endured a trying 250SX East campaign this year, crashing out of the Minneapolis opener, resulting in a hematoma in his right shoulder and a cracked collarbone. He returned in St. Louis, but didn’t qualify for the Triple Crown and then also missed out on the Showdown in Atlanta.
