Round 12 of the Monster Energy Supercross championship saw Eli Tomac dominate the main event, making it five straight Supercross wins with a wire-to-wire victory in Seattle.

It had been three years since the gate dropped in Seattle for a Supercross race, and with the bad weather holding off, fans were treated to an incredible night of racing.

Tomac launched off the gate, protecting the inside in impressive fashion to take the lead early. TLD Red Bull GasGas rider Justin Barcia made his way into second quickly and the duo set sail at the front.

Jason Anderson slotted into third place a short distance back from the leaders, and the three of them settled in for the first half of the race.

At the halfway point, Barcia was just over four seconds adrift from Tomac when he made a big mistake and crashed hard, catching a tough block in a rhythm section.

Barcia’s blunder left Anderson in second with Musquin in third, with Stewart just two seconds back from Musquin for the final podium position.

In the end, Tomac was not to be denied, breaking away to a 14 second win, making it five on a row and tying Chad Reed in the all time standings with 44 wins in the premier class of Supercross.

Anderson held on for a lonely second place finish, securing second overall in the championship standings in the process, now leading Barcia by five points.

Third place for the second weekend in a row was Musquin, the Red Bull KTM rider continuing to improve as the season draws to a close. He held off constant pressure throughout the race from Malcolm Stewart(Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) who eventually took fourth.

Rounding out the top five was Barcia who recovered after escaping major injury in what was a massive crash mid race. Also escaping major injury in Seattle was Cooper Webb, who entered the night program on the heels of a huge crash in qualifying that saw him land on the concrete beside the track, eventually finishing sixth on the night.

Consistency is the name of the game for Dean Wilson, who finished seventh for the second week in a row aboard his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, while Justin Bogle had a solid night to finish eight place on his Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki.

Mitchell Oldenburg returned to the 450 class, filling in for an injured Justin Brayton on the SmarTop Bullfrog Spas MotoConcepts Honda squad, bringing home ninth on the night ahead of Brandon Hartranft, the two battling through the final lap.

Tomac now leads the championship by 54 points as the series heads for a weekend off before returning to action in St. Louis on 9 April.
