Future finalized ahead of 2022 following closure of previous team.
Coty Schock has confirmed his switch to Phoenix Racing for the 2022 season, remaining Honda-mounted following the recent closure of his former Chaparral FXR Honda team.
The 23-year-old experienced his most successful campaign to date this year, claiming ninth overall in 250SX West before jumping on a 450 for Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, where finished 14th in the standings.
After scoring multiple top 10 finishes this year and a career-best sixth at Ironman in 450MX, Schock’s priority was to stay aboard red as the FXR Chaparral Honda team – where he had spent the last two seasons – announced it would be closing their doors at the end of 2021.
“Phoenix Racing is our new home and couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity,” Schock shared on social media. “Staying on Honda was a priority to me and this plan made sense. Thank you David Eller for being you and that’s just simply being a genuine human who loves to go racing. See everyone at the races soon.”
With the 2022 AMA rider numbers confirmed, Schock’s 2021 run of form allows him to enter next year running the number 37 plate as he looks to continue to build in the fresh surrounds.
The start of next season draws ever closer, with the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross championship commencing on 8 January in Anaheim, California.
