Frustration continues following seventh overall at Southwick.
Team Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton is aiming to be better after a tough go in the opening five rounds of the Pro Motocross season.
His second year in the 450MX class has not gone to plan, with a pair of fifth-place finishes as his best results so far this season.
While he’s had the outright speed to run at the front, Sexton is searching to figure out what he can do to improve as the halfway point of the series approaches this weekend.
“I’m trying to figure out what I can do better and trying to get back to where I should be,” Sexton explained. “I’m looking forward to Millville.
“From here on out the tracks are pretty good, so I’m looking forward to building and getting back to where I belong.”
As for what happened in round five at Southwick, Sexton qualified third, eventually going 7-8 in the motos for a frustrating seventh place overall.
“Round 5 at Southwick was a pretty rough day for me,” he continud. “I just didn’t really feel good on the track all day. I qualified third, which is okay, but I just didn’t really ride that great.
“Going into the first moto I actually felt pretty good, but I made some dumb mistakes and went backward and then couldn’t climb back up, so that was a bummer.
“In the second moto I went down pretty hard twice and that’s pretty much all; I got eighth.”
He’ll get another chance to find the front of the field this weekend in Millville for round six of the series at Spring Creek.
