After a quiet opening round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross championship, Eli Tomac is looking forward to his home round at Thunder Valley this weekend in Colorado.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider started his final season on the team with consistent 9-8 finishes at Fox Raceway in Pala, California as he looks to regain the number one plate.

“Overall, it was an alright day,” Tomac explained. “It wasn’t my best result, but we managed to put together two consistent motos and deal with the difficult track.

“I’m looking forward to Thunder Valley next week, especially since it’s my home track. We’ll take the week to get everything dialed and plan to be back on the top step where we belong.”

Tomac’s imminent switch from Kawasaki has not deterred his motivation to win races and contend for the 450 championship as he heads for the door.

“I’ve got one goal as always and that’s trying to win,” he continued. “It definitely sucks getting both number one plates taken away from you, so that’s my motivation at this point is to get one of those back or do my best to do that.”

The series continues in Tomac’s home state of Colorado this Saturday for round two at Thunder Valley, as he looks to regain some points in his bid for the championship.
