250SX West qualifying:
The final qualifying sessions from the Atlanta residency came to a close with Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) at the top of the time sheets for the first time in his career. Lawrence laid down a 1m39.208s lap to take the top spot over points leader Justin Cooper, who was over 0.9s back in second. Third was Cameron McAdoo (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki), who recovered well after his crash Tuesday. Unfortunately, in the closing moments of the second qualifying session, McAdoo crashed hard, putting his night into question. Fourth was Garrett Marchbanks (ClubMX Yamaha) who was the first rider in the 1m41s range. The Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rookies Nate Thrasher and Jarrett Frye were fifth and sixth place, followed by another rookie Seth Hammaker (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) in seventh. Hammaker crashed hard in the first qualifying session but was able to recover for the second session. Chris Blose (GasGas) was eighth with Jalek Swoll (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Mitchell Harrison (Muc-Off Honda) rounding out the top 10.

450SX qualifying:
Jason Anderson came out swinging in the final round of 450SX qualifying to grab the top spot for the second race in a row. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider’s fastest lap of 1m35.848s put him just ahead of class rookie Chase Sexton (Team Honda HRC) who was second with his teammate Ken Roczen rounding out the top three. Fourth was Malcolm Stewart (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) who was the first rider in the 1m37s range, with a 1:37.502s lap. Fifth went to Dean Wilson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) ahead of reigning champion Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawaski). Eighth was points leader Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM) with a 1m38.024s lap, ahead of Dylan Ferrandis Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha), Justin Barcia (TLD Red Bull GasGas) and Martin Davalos (Team Tedder KTM) rounding out the top 10.

250SX West heat 1:
The first holeshot of the night went to Cooper followed by Marchbanks, Frye, Robertson, and Cedric Soubeyras (Kawasaki). Cooper jumped out to a two-second lead early, while Jace Owen (ClubMX Yamaha) worked his way into the top five with Harrison and Blose just behind. With 1m30s left on the clock, Blose got around Own for fifth, while Robertson began to apply pressure on Frye for third. Sending it around the outside, Robertson made a pass and took off after Marchbanks. Harrison then made his way around Owen, while out front it was all Cooper, taking the win by five seconds from Marchbanks. Robertson was third as Blose and Frye rounded out the top five. Sixth went to Harrison with Owen, Coty Schock and Soubeyras rounding out the transfer positions. 

250SX West heat 2:
With the holeshot, it was Lawrence, as a crash unfolded in turn one. The top five early was Lawrence, Pierce Brown (TLD Red Bull GasGas), Sean Cantrell, Hammaker, and Swoll. Cameron McAdoo was back on track and in sixth, battered from his qualifying crash. McAdoo faded quickly back and outside of the top nine and out of the transfer spots. Out front, Brown paced Lawrence, while Hammaker worked his way into third place. McAdoo worked his way back into ninth, with Enzo Lopes (Honda) pressuring him in 10th. As the checkered flag came out, it was Lawrence winning by two seconds over Brown and Hammaker in the top three. Fourth went to Cantrell, with Swoll in fifth. Peters grabbed sixth, with McAdoo eventually working to seventh. The final two transfer spots went to Derek Kelley (GasGas) and Jerry Robin (Husqvarna). Atlanta 1 winner Thrasher who was collected in the first turn crash was only able to make his way into 11th and will go to the LCQ.

450SX heat 1:
The first 450 heat holeshot went to Ferrandis followed by Plessinger, Tomac, Sexton, and Davalos. Sexton quickly got past Tomac and into third after a mistake by the reigning champion in a rhythm section, while Ferrandis began to gap the field. Sexton got around Plessinger and closed up on Ferrandis, who tipped over in a corner dropping him back to fifth. Stewart was up to fourth and got an incredible drive through the whoops to pass both Tomac and Plessinger into the following corner putting him in second. As the checkered flag came out, it was Sexton winning over Stewart by nearly five seconds, followed by Plessinger, Tomac, and Ferrandis in the top five. Davalos was sixth, with Broc Tickle (MotoConcepts Honda), Benny Bloss (MotoConcepts Honda), and Josh Hill (Yamaha) taking the final transfer spots. 

450SX heat 2:
With the final heat race holeshot of the night, it was Cooper Webb followed by Savatgy, Anderson, Justin Rodbell, and Musquin. Roczen was outside of the top five but quickly worked his way into third with aggression. Barcia also made his way into the top five, passing Savatgy for fourth. Webb maintained just under a two-second lead over Anderson, with a similar gap to Roczen as the clock hit three minutes to go. Anderson closed the gap with just a minute to go, Anderson blowing past Webb through the whoops. Musquin had a small crash in the whoops as the white flag came out, dropping him down the order and allowing Wilson into the top five. Anderson cruised on to a win with Webb, Roczen, Barcia, and Wilson rounding out the top five. Sixth went to Savatgy with Bowers, Anstie, and Musquin rounding out the top nine.

250SX West LCQ:
Thrasher grabbed the holeshot ahead of Dilan Schwartz (Suzuki), Gared Steinke (Kawasaki), and Derek Drake (Suzuki). Thrasher checked out on lap one, while Robbie Wageman (Yamaha) and Lopes began to charge for the final transfer spot. Steinke dropped outside of the top four, allowing Lopes and Alves by as Wageman made a mistake and in the whoops, dropping to ninth. Drake made a mistake, Letting Lopes by and subsequently coming into the clutches of Alves who goes by and quickly put a two-second gap in the final transfer spot. As the checkered flag came out, it was Thrasher, Schwartz, Lopes, and Alves punching their tickets into the main event.

450SX LCQ:
The final qualifying holeshot went to Rodbell with, Jeremy Smith(Kawasaki), Brandon Hartranft (Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki), and Scott Champion (Yamaha) inside the top four. Champion, Hartranft, and Adam Enticknap (Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki) quickly got around Smith and set out after Rodbell. Champion hit the ground hard in the whoops ending his night early from second place. Cade Clason (Kawasaki) then began to charge, working his way into fourth but was quickly blocked passed by Alex Ray (Kawasaki). Ray then got past Enticknap for third, while Rodbell maintained his gap over second. Rodbell hit the ground in the whoops with two laps to go, causing Hartranft to bobble and Ray goes to the lead. As the race came to an end it was Ray, Enticknap, Hartranft, and Clason taking the final transfer spots into the main event.

250SX West main event:
The holeshot went to Justin Cooper with Lawrence, Hammaker, Thrasher, and Swoll. Deeper in the field there was a crash involving McAdoo that brought out the red flag forcing a restart. Blose would be carted off the track and McAdoo would head back to the starting line. The second holeshot went to Cooper again with Swoll, Thrasher, Hammaker, Lawrence, and McAdoo just behind. Thrasher showing great pace, showed a front wheel to Cooper on multiple occasions in the opening lap. McAdoo got a little sideways, forcing Lawrence off track and onto the ground. Cooper made a mistake dropping back to second behind Thrasher, while Hammaker made a mistake in the whoops collecting McAdoo, Brown, and Schock, McAdoo remounted into 11th. Out front, it was Thrasher, Cooper, Swoll, Hammaker, and Peters. As McAdoo charged, Marchbanks made an aggressive move putting McAdoo to the ground. With eight minutes to go Thrasher was out front by just over three seconds with Hammaker a further six seconds back in third. Lawrence made the move into fifth with two minutes to go, while Thrasher continued to lead by over six seconds. Lawrence quickly made a move on Swoll for fourth, setting out to catch Hammaker for the final spot on the podium. McAdoo continued riding, albeit wounded, back in 15th place. Peters caught Swoll with just a lap to go in the battle for fifth. Out front it was all Thrasher, cruising to the second win of his career and season. Cooper took second, over seven seconds back, with Hammaker rounding out the top five. Peters took fifth, with Swoll, ending in sixth place. Seventh place was Lopse with Harrison, Schwartz and Schock taking the final spots in the top 10. McAdoo recovered to take 13th on the night.

450SX main event:
The final holeshot of the night went to Plessinger with Roczen, Anderson Ferrandis, and Webb just behind. Anderson and Ferrandis got connected, the two of them going down. The top three after a lap were Plessinger, Roczen and Webb, Roczen making a pass through the whoops and heading into the lead. Barcia worked his way into fourth with Davalos and Tomac behind him. Webb pulled the trigger on a pass for second on Plessinger as the duo found themself five seconds back from Roczen in the lead. At halfway, Roczen was out front by 10 seconds, with Webb, Plessinger, Tomac, and Barcia in the top five separated by just five seconds. Roczen hit the ground at the exit of the whoops section, picking the bike up quickly and continuing with a five-second lead. Tomac then went by Plessinger for third place and set his sights on Webb in second who was three seconds ahead. A few more mistakes from Roczen allowed Webb to close in the final 90 seconds of the race, Webb making the pass with just two laps to go. A late bobble on the last lap by Webb saw Roczen gain time on him, but it wasn’t enough, Webb taking the win and a 16-point advantage in the championship. Second was Roczen, while third place went to Tomac. Plessinger finished fourth with Barcia rounding out the top five. Sixth place went to Stewart ahead of his teammate Ferrandis. Wilson notched another top 10 in eighth place with Musquin and Sexton taking the final spots inside the top 10. Anderson recovered to 11th.

Recent
