Return to competition not yet determined for 250SX West contender.
Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha has confirmed a shoulder dislocation of Jeremy Martin at Orlando 2 will sideline him indefinitely and out of 250SX West contention altogether.
It’s not yet clear when Martin will be fit to return, with the series taking a weekend off prior to Daytona next weekend, and doctors will continue to evaluate his status.
“Many of you saw the big crash I was involved in off the start in Orlando,” Martin explained in an update released by Yamaha this afternoon. “Unfortunately, it left me with a dislocated left shoulder.
“I got an MRI on Monday and have had some really good conversations with some good doctors about what’s the best plan for my return. At this early stage, I don’t know exactly when I’ll be back yet – I really appreciate the support.”
Team manager of Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s 250 team, Will Hahn, shared his disappointment to see one of their title-contending riders crash out of the opening round just one turn into the main event.
“Jeremy was riding great at last weekend’s season opener, so it’s a bummer to have him sidelined with an injury,” commented Hahn. “We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back out there.”
