Issue with fingers sidelines Team RMATVMC rider at Thunder Valley.
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM WPS’s Blake Baggett plans to race-on in Saturday’s final round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross despite missing moto two at Thunder Valley due to an issue with his fingers.
Baggett has been one of the form riders in 450MX during the mid-stages of the outdoor season, but jammed his fingers in the first moto of the penultimate round in Colorado and sat out the afternoon.
“Unfortunately, he didn’t line up for the second moto due to an issue he has been dealing with two of his fingers that he severely jammed about lap two of the first moto,” according to the team’s report from the weekend.
“Both swelled up to point of just not being able to hold on for second moto. He is getting it checked out, adjusted and looks to finish off the season this weekend at Pala in a tight back and forth battle for the top five championship points overall.”
In the championship standings, Baggett currently sits seventh overall, just 13 points outside of Chase Sexton (Team Honda HRC) in the race for fifth position. In between them, placed sixth, is Monster Energy Yamaha’s Justin Barcia.
