Number 15 hindered by mid-race pile-up to muster up 10th.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Wilson felt a podium was within reach at the ninth round of Monster Energy Supercross in Atlanta, however a mid-race pile-up put a stop to his charge to the front.
Wilson was in the multi-rider battle just outside of the top five when teammate Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and Vince Friese (Smarttop Bullfrog MCR Honda) got tangled in a corner, forcing the number 15 to pile-up behind them.
The 28-year-old rebounded from the incident to salvage 10th, leaving him to think what could have been inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
“I’m a little bit disappointed with my night because I feel like I was in a really good position to get a top-five or even a podium,” Wilson said. “Unfortunately, a few things happened that kind of held me up and I ended up crashing but I feel like I rode really well and my fitness felt really good.”
Wilson is ranked 10th in the championship standings as the series heads to Florida this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway.
